Bad Days

Are you ever just in a bad mood? Your day started decently then everything went downhill at some point. You are filled with these negative thoughts about yourself and about others? You are over sensitive to what others are saying whether it has anything to do with you or not? You take everything personally, all the while over analyzing everything. You feel like crap. Nothing makes you feel better. Not even chocolate.

We all get in these slumps sometimes. The trudges on the battle field are like quicksand. Your trying to continue on to fulfill your purpose in your God given situation but your unable to move on. You can't love and support others because your stuck. Stuck in your own head, in your own thoughts, in your insecurities. You are stuck in lies.

Lies that say your unlovable. Lies that say you are incapable. You are too young, you are too old, too broken, too hurt. Lies are fed to us through our thoughts which rules our minds and takes over. We continue on in this experience of terrible feelings until we hit something whether it is rock bottom or someone reaching their hand to pulling us out or God speaking to us. We all have had these moments of realization that it's not the end of the world.

Yes, I did experience all of these within the past week. This process is never fun and does happen to literally everyone. I am someone who has experienced this yet came out on the other side and decided to change my mindset and choose joy. Joy through the unknown, through the changes, through the difficult days and the hurt feelings. I decided to change my perspective and seek Jesus and all He had to offer.

If you were wondering what prompted my changed attitude here it is.

"For I consider the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us." Romans 8:18, ESV

I was reading through Romans and skipped ahead and looked at my personal notes. The one right next to this verse says... Our daily struggles are unequal to His everlasting glory. This was something I picked up from reading this scripture months ago and its impact hit me like a wall.

So you have a decision to make.

Are you going to surrender on the battlefield or are you going to choose hope in the unseen future?
